Students...

Master Togo is very please that you find Danika to have the most annoying voice, and not myself.

Danika does have a very odd voice, I think it has something to do with her love for Brats Dolls as a young Child.

I therefore figured it was a better idea to send Mhenlo to deal with her... and her lovely voice later in the game.

Now Master Togo was to work on improving his voice, so if you excuse me.

Even I, the great Master Togo finds that cutscene to be very painful. But at the same time very funny.

Boreas Seabed must have quite the nightlife, because poor Elder Rhea sounds like she ties one on night after night, all the while puffing down a carton of Marlboro's finest.

In Prophecies, my favorite cutscene I just love to hate (yes, this was meant to confuse you!) is the Chosen being escorted out by the Shining Blade.
"Please don't hurt us!" I still giggle about it months later :P

As far as the best voice-to-role-to-voice acting, the Emporer (Factions) wins my vote.

Post here who you think has the worst voice of all the characters.

My choices:
1. Elder Rhea
2. The Fortune Teller
3. Master Togo or Kuunavang (they're tied)

Also, including a witty explanation of what they sound like to you will elevate the fun
kuunavang was the same voice as glint but a tiny bit different lol same voice actor I guess, for a majestic dragon its a laugh thoe I wonder why they had the same voice for both dragons.

I seriously thought it was glint lol.

EXACTLY!!!!!! Danika cracks me up every time, I do actually laugh every single time I see that cutscene. I just sit there wondering what they were thinking. But the above scene, that is by far the worst!

Elder Rhea sounds like she smokes 20 packs a day
Danika sounds like a reject from a 80's valley girl sitcom.

Togo, Mhenlo and SHiro are OK, they just need some work.

I vote Danika this time around though.
LOL

Though I haven't played Factions yet, that "agonising touch" line from The Seer in Iron Mines is truly terrible.

The acting and writing is mostly pretty poor. One thing I hate is when they say Just-a-car Hablion.

Default Hit the nail on the head.

Seems a lot of peeps agree.

1. Shiro
2. Danika
3. (as above) The Seer

Honourable mention to the girl in Nahpui Quarter who says "are you taking us to paradise".

Worst Factions cutscene: I was going to say when Shiro slays the Emperor in the Harvest Temple. (Watching it made me think of Max Payne and how to effectively represent states of madness.) But, I just realised that the cutscene at the palace where Shiro slays Togo is actually the worst for trying to do something evocative and failing so miserably. (The cut away to the bonsai plant? WTH? SO badly staged, SO rushed!)

Worst Prophecies cutscene: The Seer in the Iron Mines mission. The really terrible part about this one is that when doing an infusion run, there is always ONE PERSON who doesn't skip it. I've seen this cutscene waaaay too many times. LOL

Playing through Factions I wished, once and for all, that ANet would either a. put some effort and time into telling the story properly or b. (and given that a. is unlikely to happen, the preferred option) remove the cutscenes altogether. I would much rather see a well-presented text/image slideshow at mission towns to further the story rather than these half-assed cutscenes.

Maybe Bonsai Plant had secret relationship with Togo and it was just an image showing a mourning plant.

They're all terrible in their own special ways, but I think Danika annoys me the most.

Also, I don't know if it really counts as a "voice," but I refuse to have Talon Silverwing in my party because he won't stop making those damned noises. I don't know who at ANet thought it would be a good idea to have a henchman who makes sounds like a grunting bird every two seconds, but they should receive a boot to the head.

Wait a second... are we talking about:
  • Bad-sounding Voice?
  • Badly-written Dialogue?
  • Bad voice-acting of what is otherwise reasonably well-written dialogue?

The worst voice is a subjective matter, but Danika probably takes the prize.

Now, as for dialogue and voice-acting, it's a much harder contest since Guild Wars' dialogues are terrible, and the game probably has the worst voice-acting I have ever seen in any game this side of Zero Wing. Here are some of the worst exchanges that I can recall (combination of abysmal dialogue and unbearable voice-acting):
  • Player's dialogue in the exchange between Seer and Player in Iron Mines. Pay special attention to the lines "Why us?" and "Go on, we're listening." You can clearly picture a person reading out the dialogue from a script, it's that bad.
  • In general, most of the Players' lines are horribly voice-acted, although the dialogues themselves are sometimes OK.
  • Most of Shiro's dialogues. Bad dialogue, bad acting. Muhahaha FTW. Who wrote these, an 8-year old?
  • Most of Lich's dialogues. Bad dialogue, not-so-bad acting. "All of Teeeria will be mine! Muhahaha!" Sigh.

I actually felt Master Togo's voice acting was reasonably done, as were some of the Deldrimor dwarves'. Even Prince Rurik's character was reasonably voiced IMO. As annoying the character might be, the image of the righteous knight did come through.

Shiro - Get someone with a voice NOT so idoitic (For crist sakes the whole Cantha is afraid of him, how CAN he be a idoit that only knows how to fight)

Kuunavang - I don't know where to begin... But personally it should be someone with a deep voice, that can hiss, and is male. (And have him make love to Glint !)

Elder (Chris) Rhea for me.

The voice overs are so bad. I would have thought that by not doing any lip synching they would have spent more time on getting the voices right? Infact they would have been better using bad lip synching to make it look like a badly dubbed martial arts movie!
